Richard DeVita passed away suddenly Monday, June 14, 2021 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT. He was born on March 23, 1942 in New Haven, CT to the late Archie and Marie (Negretti) DeVita. He was the loving husband of his wife of 56 years Margaret (Richards) DeVita. Rich was an alumnus of Hamden High School and Quinnipiac University. He was a partner of Simione and Simione Certified Public Accountants where he enjoyed a successful 40 year career. Rich was an avid golfer and sports fan. For many years he sat on the Board of Governors of the Farms Country Club where he was an active member. In retirement he especially enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and UConn Women's Basketball. Rich was a devoted family man and friend to many. He is survived by three loving daughters Carla LaPrade of Cheshire, Casey (John) Marinuzzi of North Haven, and Christin (Michael) Crowder of North Haven. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his three grandchildren Frankie Marinuzzi and Georgia and Abby Crowder. He is survived by his sister Carolyn (Michael) Shirley and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents-in-law Raymond and Christine Richards and by his son-in-law Ron LaPrade. Calling Hours will be THURSDAY, 4 to 7 p.m. in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, followed by a private burial.
