HECKER, Marvin Allan, 71, of Chesterfield, passed away on December 30, 2012, surrounded in his home by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Rebecca. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila; daughter, Sherry Intravia (Paul) of Chester; son, Scott (Whitney) of Stafford; and six grandchildren, Lexie, Lauren, Nick, Addy, Ava and Ella; and sister, Marilyn D'Ambrose (Fredric) of Hamden, Conn. He was a lifelong learner, holding a B.S., two M.S. degrees and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering. Marv worked for the U.S. Federal Government in New York and Washington, D.C., for a total of 28 years; he retired as the head of Environmental Safety for the Department of Justice. After his retirement in 2004, he served two years as President of the Chesterfield Chapter of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), where he championed the cause of Alzheimer's. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester Chapel. Internment to immediately follow in Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield, Va.
